Senior IT executive wins EMBA Scholarship

< Back Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA student Sumita Kandarajan is the 2016 recipient of the Franklin & Sasarman Simard Scholarship. “The scholarship means a lot to me because I am doing the EMBA all on my own by taking a huge line of credit,” Sumita says. “This scholarship has taken a huge weight off my shoulders and the first thing that came to my mind was maybe I can take an extra elective now that I wanted to but couldn’t have afforded earlier.” Sumita always wanted to pursue an MBA, but a busy work and family life diverted her plans. Now enrolled in the Kellogg-Schulich EMBA with classes every third weekend, Sumita believes it was the right thing to wait as she has more experience, expertise and maturity to complete the program. Currently a senior IT executive, Sumita says the EMBA is providing clarity and courage for where she wants to be. “I can’t thank the school and the donors enough for giving me this scholarship and helping take me to the next level,” Sumita said. The Franklin & Sasarman Simard Scholarship Endowment Fund was established at the Schulich School of Business in February 2008 by Dr. Laurence “Larry” Franklin and his wife Mei Kwong Franklin, and by Kellogg-Schulich alumnus Michael Sasarman and his wife Martine Simard Dupuy.
