Investing in Tomorrow’s Trailblazers Today

“Be curious.” Two words, one piece of advice that passionate marketers Zehra Raza (BBA ‘12) and Azim Akhtar offer Schulich students enrolled in the Master of Marketing Program. “Every good marketer has one thing in common – they always look at the world with a sense of curiosity which allows them to be forever learners.” Zehra and Azim are Co-Founders of BrandCast Community, an online destination for marketing professionals.
That sense of curiosity has kept Zehra and Azim constantly looking for ways to help advance the marketing profession and support their community, notably students looking to shape a successful marketing career. Upon learning of the new Master of Marketing at the Schulich School of Business, the first of its kind in Canada, Raza and Akhtar felt inspired to create the program’s first scholarship. Established last spring, the BrandCast Marketing Leadership Scholarship benefits an incoming Master of Marketing student who demonstrates leadership skills, innovative thinking, and academic excellence (minimum GPA of A). The recipients will also have the optional opportunity to engage in coaching and mentorship sessions to help achieve their career goals.
“We loved that the Master of Marketing program at one of Canada’s most prestigious global business schools was focused on providing relevant skills and knowledge to current and aspiring marketers, and it aligned perfectly with BrandCast’s purpose of supporting the marketing community. We are excited for the opportunity to invest in the bright minds of tomorrow,” said Zehra and Azim.
